Mr. Quipic...
Egore was his name. Rescued by two great women who belong to the Hedgehog Welfare Society
.

I picked him up on February 4 in Puyallup, WA. I renamed him Mr Quipic (Mr. Pokie in
French).

Right now he is really shy. He doesn't like to be handled or touched. Mostly in a ball if touched.

I decided to put him on my desk next to me every night when I am on the internet. I get him out
of his cage and offer him some food next to me. Hopefully in a couple weeks/months he won't
be as affraid.
If not touched he opens up and walk around my desk. He is too cute!

I have been surfing the net about hedgehogs since I never owned one. Quipic is from Africa.
Smaller than the one we have in Europe.

He is an insectivore but likes soft cat food/fruits/veggetable.

If you have any tips for me,
email me!

opening up to me more
and more. He feels
comfortable in my hands
but still scarred when
placed on a new surface.
10 Commandments for a Responsible Hedgehog Owner

1. My life is likely to last 4 to 8 years. Any separation from you will
be very painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me, it is crucial for my well being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long, and don't lock me up as punishment.
You have your work, your friends, your entertainment. I have only you!

5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I understand your
voice when it's speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will forgive, but I'll never
forget it.

7. Before you hit or mistreat me, remember that I have teeth that could
easily break the skin on your hand, but I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if
something could be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food,
I may be too cold, or my heart may be getting old and weak.

9. Take care of me when I get old. You, too, will grow old.

10. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say, "I can't bear to watch
it", or "let it happen in my absence." Everything is easier for me if
you are there.

Remember, I love you.
