His youth was spent in Le Havre, where
he first excelled as a caricaturst but was
then converted to landscape painting by
his early mentor Boudin, from whom he
derived his firm predilection for painting
out of doors. In 1859 he studied in
Paris at the Atelier Suisse and formed a
friendship with Pissarro.   In his final
years he was troubled by faling eyesight,
but he painted until the end.

Van Gogh is definitly one
of my favorite painter.
Pierre-Auguste renoir (1841-1919)
He was the son of a tailor, whose fther moved to Paris in
1845.  At age 13 Renoir was sent to work as an apprentice

to a painter in a chinaware factory.  It was there
he learned to imitate some of the great painters
of the 18th century.  When he was 21 he
became a member of the studio of M.G.C
Gleyre, and became friendly with other artists of
the time, including Claude Monet, Alfred Sisley
and Jean Bazille. During the last 20 years of his
life, Renoir was crippled by arthritis and although
he was unable to move freely, he continued to
paint, by strapping a brush to his arm.
